Pre-Employment Assessment
The Orion Pre-Employment System was designed to measure work-relevant
attitudes and experiences. The emphasis is on detection of attitudes
and behavioral tendencies which might lead to employee theft, employee
drug use, difficulty accepting one's niche in an organizational
structure, poor work habits, reluctance to embrace new technologies
or methods and safety orientation. The System is intended to be
a non-threatening, brief but systematic way of assessing these characteristics
so that potential employers might have additional information with
which to make informed hiring decisions.
The Opinion Survey is a paper and pencil self-report measure. The
items are worded as self-statements to which the participant responds
on a 10-point Likert scale. The Opinion Survey is used to generate
scores on a variety of summary characteristics. The survey results
are also used to generate information that is used to guide the
interviewer through the interview process.
