This Screening Tool measures the WHY of employee's
actions, leading to an understanding of the drivers of their behavior
and the motivators that move them into action.
Every day, employees and managers are faced with real situations
that call for thought, decision, opinion and action. Consciously
or unconsciously, every decision, reaction and course of action
arises from their experiences, beliefs, attitudes, and values (motivators).
These experiences, beliefs, attitudes, and values are a type of
window through which employees view the world and seek fulfillment
in their lives. If employees are participating in a discussion,
activity, or career that is in line with their motivators, they
will value the experience. Conversely, if they are in a conversation,
activity or career that is against their dominant motivators, they
will be indifferent or negative toward the experience, possibly
causing tensions and stress.
Once employees know the motivators that drive their actions, they
will immediately be able to understand the causes of conflict in
life and work. If employees are in a career they are enjoying, or
if they are finding little satisfaction in their career, they will
understand why. Employees will understand and appreciate their relationships
as they recognize the motivators of other team members and see how
those motivators might interact with their own.
Clarifying Motivators will give companies and organizations the
competitive edge in the marketplace. Results and benefits include:
employees making career choices that will increase their job satisfaction,
employees developing an increased appreciation for the uniqueness
of others, employees appreciating the viewpoint of others who see
life differently, and employees increasing their satisfaction and
fulfillment in the workplace.
